December's Prize - The King Of Hearts​

This month’s Artist of the Month feature is especially close to my heart, as it gave me the chance to reconnect with my longtime friend Seanie —who still calls me Sarah, a name I haven’t heard since the naughties! Seanie, along with Eric the Viking, co-owns King of Hearts, one of London’s most respected piercing and tattoo studios. Located in Newcross, this creative powerhouse has been thriving for twelve years, and visiting felt like both a homecoming and a reunion. I couldn't be prouder to see my pal Seanie,he's such an effortless talent in his piercing craft and he's  created an inspiring space filled with vibrant, powerful artwork that reflects the talent and warmth of the entire team.

 

Eric the Viking, a profoundly talented tattoo artist, brings a peaceful energy to the studio that makes it feel both welcoming and unique. I was also thrilled to connect with Daniel Cook, a brilliant graphic and tattoo artist whose friendly, down-to-earth nature made my visit even more memorable. His incredible talent and kindness shine through in every interaction. Upstairs, I met The Digenus, another amazing artist with such a friendly vibe—definitely check out his work!

 

It’s exciting to see Shauny’s new apprentice, Melaina, bringing her own skill and warmth to the team. On the top floor, they have a studio where they create mash-up toys—I absolutely love it there! Their creations are mad, brilliant, and full of character.
